Why should I want to make a special photograph into an Immortile?

Turning your photograph into an Immortile is to create a world's first photographic sculpture.  Whether in wood or in ceramic you are transforming a flat picture into a photograph you can feel.  Through careful and lengthy process your image is carved into a faithful facsimile which is robust and durable; to remain a treasure for generations to come.  Immortile raises a photograph's profile in more that one way.  It makes it into a surface you can feel and it places it above all others.

It either comes in differing colours of ceramic or in wood where it is carved on a pale softwood and sealed.

What sort of photograph should I choose to make into an Immortile?

The photograph and its selection is of great importance.  Very often the appeal and capture of a photo wins over quality; but it is good to remember that the better the detail and clarity of the image, the better the Immortile we can produce.  Best to choose a good face portrait or head and shoulders.  But if the detail is clear, then select any photograph that is pleasing to you. Letting us see more than one is always helpful and final choice can be made on good feedback.

I have a photograph that needs some attention; can you help?

We offer a full PhotoShop service to support you in making the most of your photograph.  If it is enhancement, adjustment or correction that needs to be carried out; or if you want to edit out parts of the picture, all this we can do.  If the work is likely to be extensive we may charge a small supplement but will always quote you in advance.

Does it matter whether my photograph is in colour or in black and white?

It does not matter.  The Immortile process creates a monochromatic image.  This means  that it makes a picture in variations of one colour alone.  In the ceramic there are differing colours to choose from; whereas the wood relies on the use of a pale natural background.

If choosing a ceramic Immortile, all the colours shown are faithfully displayed.  Glazed colours may vary; so does the intensity of photographic realisation [grey-scale] in each of the glazes.  For example “Holly” gives strong definition, whereas “Ivory” is gentle and subtle; “Sky” on the other hand gives depth with clarity.

How do I get my photograph to you?

There are two ways we can receive your photograph.  You can post it to us or send it via email.  We always run shy of you posting cherished originals; if you can not scan the original you might be able to get a duplicate done and send that.  If you want the photograph cropped then include a simple B&W photocopy, marking your requirements on it. Whatever the case, when sending in the post we always suggest secure postage and a rigid packet.  We always return originals in similar fashion.

The preferred method is to scan the photograph and send it by email.  This should be as a full size image at no less than 300dpi or higher if you want it cropped down. Once again, drawing on a copy sent as well, you can show us just what you want.  Please contact us if you have any queries on our free phone: 0800 810 1077. We are always happy to discuss your requirements.

Will I get to see the edit of my photograph before you start?

If we have to make important edits then we normally send the finished photographic proposal back to you for approval; this unless your instructions are crystal clear. Always better to have you check and approve.

How do I order my Memory Box?

You follow the drop down menus in the selection windows on the Memory Box Product Page and complete all your choices, then simply proceed through the checkout links to make payment.

You will have to select the wood of your choice and which Immortile for the inset image, whether wood or ceramic.  If ceramic then choose also a colour.

There are three types of wood to choose from: Oak [golden brown with grain] Ash [blond with distinct grain] Sycamore [pale and plain]. The Memory Box measures: Width 280mm (11") x Length 420mm (16.5") x Height 140mm (5.5"). The wood for each box is matched but please bear in mind that as wood is a natural product, grain and colour will always vary.  Your Memory Box is going to be unique.

If choosing a ceramic Immortile, all the colours shown are faithfully displayed.  Once again glazed colours may vary; so does the intensity of photographic realisation [grey-scale] in each of the glazes.  For example “Holly” gives strong definition, whereas “Ivory” is gentle and subtle; “Sky” on the other hand gives depth with clarity.

How do I order the Classic Framed?
